Below are list of Websites that I have found the most useful when researching or just generally learning more about areas covered in the construction of the website. A lot off the sites listed below I also have to thank in co-operation for allowing me to use photographs or information from their sites.

Border Reiver Sites

The Border Reivers - This is by far the best site for learning about the Border Reivers, their way of life, raids, tales, and day to day life. It also fits in the history and description of places and people along the borders including battles that took place around them.

The Borderers - This group of enthusiasts has got together and created this website and also puts on public shows on selected weekends too. They also provided me with permission to use some of their Photography on this website.

Border Reivers - This is only one main page but is very informative with a menu at the top to help your search for information. Well worth a read.

Border Heritage - This site is a Scottish Reivers only website. It has various information, videos and books relating to clans such as the Armstrongs and Scotts.

Border Reiver Swords - This site is an internet article about the swords the Reivers used

John Barnett - If your after owning your own sword similar to ones the Border Reivers would have used then this site is were to go. The other option is

Border Places

Bewcastle - This is a site put together by the historians, enthusiasts and local people of Bewcastle and also contains a list graves at Bewcastle. This is a very good site and also has contacts if you require any more information.

Bewcastle History - This is a good site about Bewcastles history and gives a few mention to the Routledges.

Hawick - This site is Hawick towns site and is good for anyone who wishes to make a visit to the area.

Hawick Word book - This is a brilliant site for anyone who does not know the area. Although it does take a while to open up as it is a pdf file and is regularly updated. I have worked with its creator on the section regarding the Routledges and you will recognise a few tales regarding them. I also have to thank Mr Douglas as he helped me research the early Routledge origins.

Scottish Border Places - This is a site that can be a good basis for anyone wanting to visit the Scottish orders for the first time and covers all the main points of interest. But mainly refers to the Scottish side of the Border.

Discover the Border - This site I prefer to the one above but is very similar. It covers points of interest on both sides of the border from Archaeological sites to monuments and landscapes.

Border Family History - This site is mainly for anyone who is looking into the genealogy along the border.

The Reiver Trail - This site is for anyone wishing to cycle or walk the route of the Border Reivers Trail.

Other Routledge Sites

Ruttledge History Page - This site is aimed at Ruttledges and Rutledges but still covers the early history.

Rutledge DNA project - This site baffles me. If you understand DNA and wish to take part then please contact them. But for me I get a bit confused when it refers to halo groups etc.
